Of course, exactly what it is we've been warned about is open to question. Is it simply boilerplate reality that pandemics are a 'thing' that come around from time to time? Or, is it an indication that somebody likes the 'control' they've been able to exert and grab via a 'pandemic' and you can rest assured more is to come? Or, has something else already gotten 'loose' and we're being warned? Or, is it something else?

I'm sure at some point after the 1918 Spanish flu outbreak someone, somewhere may have said the same thing.

That was a bit before my my time, but people really have not changed that much, not even the politics.

When "scientists" screw around with nature, things are bound to happen, some good but mostly bad.

Exactly. The Spanish Flu was at least 35 - 50 times more lethal than this one for people of typical working age. I doubt COVID would even have been noticed had it gone through in 1918. (Disregarding the probable man-made origins of COVID).
