I have applied for jobs online where they state all new hires are required to provide proof of vaccination, and they make you check a box that says you agree before being able to begin the application. This seems to not give any room to the legal option of medical/religious exemptions.
I am interested to roleplay a hypothetical situation in this thread where two people, call them Person 1 and Person 2, are having a conversation relating to vaccination status.
Person 2, the hiring manager for Firm X, is interviewing Person 1, a job applicant. Firm X has implemented a mandatory COVID vax policy for its employees. After the preliminary interview questions, Person 2 asks Person 1 for proof of vax before they can begin employment. Person 1 states that they got both vax doses at different drive-thru clinics in parking lots while away from their home area/on vacation. Person 1 says they have since lost the card. Person 1 does not remember exactly when they visited the drive-thru clinics. What is Person 2's response in this situation?
Whether Person 1 actually got the vax or is making up this story is irrelevant. What would a hiring manager in Person 2's position do? It seems like the most logical thing that would happen based on current national events is for Person 2 to refuse to hire Person 1 unless they can produce a government issued paper vax card. What are your thoughts?
Are there other scenarios you can think of with the same/different outcomes, say, domestic/international travel? School admissions?
