I'm going to go out on a limb here....

Doesn't this stuff happen at most concerts ? I've been to concerts where as you get closer to the stage your basically getting progressively more crushed, but you never see anyone dropping dead from a heart attack.

Correct, you do not need a stampede, it is called crowd crush, the standing crowd squeezes/suffocates/unable to physically inhale, whilst the surrounding air is low in oxygen and saturated with carbon dioxide due to masses consuming. put that with any drugs and one will pass out supported by the crush and eventually cardiac arrest due to low oxygen. Basically die standing packed like sardines.

Happens sometimes(older mellower crowds generally not so much) but most start sensing it and security and strong personality types start screaming and attempting to turn crush back, if it gets real bad, security at stage will pull people out at front, and or performer will even get on mic and stop playing to get crowd back.

Crowd crush, nothing more - though there have been reports of people being 'pricked' by what they thought was a hypodermic needle, to which I think is reminiscent of a recent rash of people in the UK (London) trying to inject girls in nightclubs with some type of pass-out/date-rape drug, rather than spiking their drinks with Rohypnol (which is also going on).

Insomniac Holdings (in conjunction with Live Nation for this festival) has had incidents of crowd-crush arise in the past with people passing out or dying, in addition to deaths at their EDM festivals, primarily due to drug overdoses or heat-exhaustion (often those two combined) and insufficient medical-staff or means on site to administer emergency medical treatment.

                This is not something new.

However, we need to ban festivals and high-capacity audience concerts going forward... if it saves just one life!!

If some level of government had that information, what would they do with it? How would having that info benefit public safety? How would it benefit law enforcement?

I went to see AC/DC Back in Black tour in 1981, thought I could
get close to the stage; after almost getting crushed, I had to go
back through the crowd to just breathe. It was like wrestling 50
people at once. From then on I only sat in the seats at arenas.

Motorhead 'Everything Louder than Everything Else' gig at Santa Monica Civic in the mid-late 80s I think... was insane.

I lost my tolerance for chit like that.

                          I watched 2 fight videos

I watched the dancer / "singer" watch the event unfold

My guess is his auto tune singing was lipsynching and the performer would look like a fool to stop singing and the vocals keep playing

The MSM is more concerned that Kylie Jenner was unhurt at the concert,,, never mind the 8 people who lost their lives. Kylie is going home tonight.

Kylie Jenner is reportedly unscathed after attending her boyfriend Travis Scott's concert, where eight people were killed in a crush and stampede that left several others hospitalized.

Watching one of the videos of the crowd fleeing, it looks like they looted the merchandise stand on the way out.
