I spent a week in Austin once. The music scene is fantastic, as are all the coeds wandering about. The food truck scene was likewise wonderful.... it's a "thing" there. But someone dragged me out to BBQ, claiming it was the Best Ever. If what I had was the best BBQ Texas has to offer, I've had better elsewhere.

Texas BBQ is WAY overrated...... I'd rather have a Double Double.
Always looking for vintage Winchester and Marlin lever action rifles. Looking to sell? Know of one for sale? Drop me a line!

I was in Irving for a week training a few years back and had a similar experience. The gals took me to some chain store BBQ restaurant and they ordered chicken! I had a feeling it was going to be bad.

From all of the hub-bub on YT etc, Franklin's BBQ is supposed to be the bees knees. They have a line that starts like 4 in the morning and they sell out every day.

Back on topic, the PH store is getting blasted on the news. But at least one family came out to support and was interviewed.

Hit Franklins for sure is the best in Austin but the Mecca for Texas style pit smoked BBQ is Lockhart for Kreuz Market and Blacks.

You haven’t had real Texas BBQ if you haven’t done the Lockhart BBQ crawl.

Back on topic for you INO aficionados here are all the Bible verses on the packaging (they missed the water cup any hardcore fans got that one?)

John 3:16 on the Soda Cups

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

Proverbs 3:5 on the Milkshake Cups

"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding."

Revelation 3:20 on the Hamburger and Cheeseburger Wrappers

"Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me."

Nahum 1:7 on the Double-Double Wrapper

"The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him."

Proverbs 24:16 on the French-Fry Tray

“for though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again,
but the wicked stumble when calamity strikes.”

John 14:6 on the paper water cups

“ 6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

1 Corinthians 13:13 Merchandising, License Plate and Keychain

“13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”

I am glad the in-n-out pureblood purists have not been defeated by the baconators yet. 88 to 88.

Texas Land and Cattle is decent. When we hire a new employee we take them there for lunch.
