    Hide from vaccine in Texas/Florida?

It seems vaccine mandates may be coming for is all, whether we work on site or remote. For those that can, would you move to Texas or Florida to get away from vaccine mandates if they come to your doorstep here in CA?

Maybe I'm being overly optimistic but I don't think it's going to happen. There's too many legal problems with an employer forcing shots. They'd have to toss out long established case law. The further along this goes, the more the resistance grows. I'm willing to bet that the majority of those that took two shots don't want a third.

I have spoken with many that aren't into politics that aren't getting a 3rd shot. I do hope you are right, but my wife has almost 30 years in her district and a daughter who's a freshman in a good high school, and neither is getting the shot, but we are now planning on my wife being potentially unemployed by the first of the year and rushing a planned escape and leaving family behind.

Many companies have government contracts. Houston, we have a problem. Airlines will continue to mandate. Hospitals still want the vax. They're brainwashed there as well. There won't be much compliance where the companies' employees overwhelmingly want the mandate.

I'm thinking our only chance is our 24 state AGs vow to stop the Biden mandate. Which still may not stop private corporations' independent decisions to mandate.

            The fear is irrationally strong.
Even a private corporate mandate is irrationally wrong.

Got the email today. Vax or I'm out by Dec, 8.

I emailed HR to see if I will be eligible for unemployment benefits. No response yet.

Coincidentally, wife and I just decided we're going to Texas. If we don't like it, and in a few years the insanity levels in CA get back to normal (normal for CA), we may move back.

Yes this will depend on how we see the future and what happens. So far NV is super quiet about it all. The casinos run this place. I'd bet they're looking at NY restaurants and are like nope!

They already took a big loss and I'm pretty sure they're not ready for another. BUT if it comes down to it we will leave.

The wife is thinking about getting fired or quitting now. So that way she can jump on unemployment now. She's looking into it all and seeing what's best.

We asked the same to our HR. The vp of HR responded saying that we're not being reported as terminated for cause, but for not having a required vax for the position. She said she has no idea how the state will interpret that as far as unemployment.

It's illegal to mandate an unapproved vaccine and even if it was approved, exemptions must be provided. Even if it was approved, there's still legal issues.
The wheels will fall off this thing eventually.

OP I'm not sure how 'safe' it is out here in TX. So yes there is an EO from the governor to prevent a mandate but remains to be seen how effective that is. There are a lot of woke companies here and also government contractors, will they even fall under the protection of the EO?

Yes it's better here than CA in many ways but the mandate (Biden's rumor) has momentum and companies are in rush to CYA. Double check the situation with any employer you find.
