It’s not being studied as a cure. Like tamiflu for influenza the studies are likely going to be whether it reduces symptoms and progression towards hospitalization and other morbidity/mortality.

It will likely fall the same fate as tamiflu. There is a window of opportunity to take it between the onset of symptoms and the course of full blown flu. By the time patients are getting to the doctors office it is too late for tamiflu to effective.

Whenever you see the term “cure “. I’d be immediately suspicious. There are few things in medicine where there is true cure. Even with bacterial infections there are treatment but not a cure. Hepatitis C maybe one of the rare times where medicine has a real cure. And that is $$$$$$!
