        News article, same subject:

According to the sheriff, his motivation for stating the policy unequivocally came after his podcast last week was monitored by a newspaper reporter, who he claimed "cherry-picked statements from supposed health experts in an attempt to paint me ... in a negative light.'' He did not name the reporter or the publication.

Bianco reiterated his position regarding what he characterized as authoritarianism and his constitutional duty to protect the public "from the criminal element, as well as being the last line of defense from tyrannical government overreach.''

The verbiage in the statement sounds a lot like our Sheriff who posted up something similar a week or two ago regarding all Covid mandates from the office of Brown of Salem.

Practically speaking though, sure the Sheriff isn't going to come to one's door with a nurse and force one to take a shot, that's not going to happen, but they're also not going to be around when one is thrown out of business for trespassing when unvaccinated or when one's employment is terminated and dollars to donuts, any adverse action will still find them applying 'the law' to the resultant interactions regardless of impetus.

I found a similar level of comfort a couple years ago with our 'sanctuary county' stuff that the supervisors passed and the sheriff signed on to. Nice statements but when push comes to shove it's up to us to be the enforcers. The Sheriff won't stop the feds or OSP at the county line with one MRAP and a bunch of automatic weapons. We might though. Back then I'd say, nah, ain't going to happen. Covid op and destroying the economy and people's lives? Different kettle of fish.

I feel that as time passes, this will be a Supreme Court issue.

Supreme court or not I WILL NOT COMPLY. The only way they are putting that thing in me is after they kill me.
I will stand for truth even if I stand alone.

Yep, in our case, the 'similar' verbiage applied to county residents as a whole, not just sheriff personnel. Masks, vaccines, the whole smash. Question is will they respond to and act on a trespass complaint solely predicated on non-mask use? IDK. That would be a good test.
