    Maybe I Missed It...

But what's the half-life of taking the vaccine, before they tell you it's expired, and you need to start over?

If I get the shot (in 2021)and not booster, can I still say I'm vaxed in 2030? 2040?

At this time I believe the booster is only recommended for people with pre existing immunity issues as the vax did not work as well for them as it does on the general populace.

But I got that from the actual booster recommendation not the internet so I'm sure some internet search pro will tell me I'm wrong.

We already have the only reasonable Gun Control we need, It's called the Second Amendment and it's the government it controls.

I'm guessing it will be '1yr', seeing how people in Israel are getting their 3rd boosters after just 6 months. Vax seems to wear off at about 10% per month.

The CDC is now saying after 8 months you will need a booster due to drop in efficacy. It's unclear, because the experts say they are still learning, if you continue to need more in the future. I'm fairly certain, that they plan on regular boosters probably indefinitely based on the fact that they are promoting a vaccine passport of some type. They wouldn't bother creating a vaccine passport system for just two shots.

Not quite. The booster at this time is being recommended for the "at risk" populations such as elderly and frontline workers, much like back in January. Eventually it will be everyone that needs one. I recommend listening to this video.

This is not true. They are recommending the booster for everyone at about the 8th month mark starting yesterday.

The interesting thing is many of my coworkers got their first shot in December and their second shot in January. Since Covid started we only had like 2 nurses test positive in the entire department. That's pretty incredible given it's a very busy Level I trauma center and we care for patients that are Covid positive and as nurses we are the ones administering the test/collecting the specimens. However, recently we have had quite a few RN's test positive and get somewhat sick, think like a really bad flu; high fever for a few days, the usual symptoms with aches, fever, loss of sense of taste and smell, etc. All about 7 months after their second dose. All that were positive were symptomatic and fully recovered, none were hospitalized and pretty much everyone described it as being mild to moderate in nature.

I'm not writing this to start a flame war, to piss people off, have a bunch of people say this or that. I am not also taking one side or the other. I'm just relaying what I am currently seeing. Could it be purely coincidence/anecdotal. Of course. It is interesting though that we are seeing more employees that are developing symptoms and testing positive. Could people be more taxed about protecting themselves at work? That's a possibility. Could the newest strain actually be more contagious? Again, sure. Could these individuals have been even more sick if they weren't fully "vaccinated", already receiving 2 doses? Who knows, and the don't even know what variant of the virus these people had. Can't prove why or how we are seeing more employees test positive. Take from it what you what, interpret that and process it any way you want. Like I said, I really don't take sides in the debate and could give a poop if you're vaccinated or not. It really doesn't bother me either way.

That's because that was a REAL vaccine not a flu shot.

By 2030 you will have 40 boosters... but 2040, pushing 100.

                        .

Hmmm, OK, not what I read.

                        From the CDC website
                        What You Need to Know
People who are moderately to severely immunocompromised are especially vulnerable to COVID-19 because they are more at risk of serious, prolonged illness.
People with moderately to severely compromised immune systems may not build the same level of immunity to 2-dose vaccine series compared to people who are not immunocompromised.
People who have compromised immune systems may benefit from an additional dose to make sure they have enough protection against COVID-19.
CDC recommends people who are moderately to severely immunocompromised should receive an additional dose of mRNA COVID-19 vaccine after the initial 2 doses.
This additional dose intended to improve immunocompromised people’s response to their initial vaccine series is not the same as a booster dose, given to people when the immune response to a primary vaccine series is likely to have waned over time.
CDC does not recommend additional doses or booster shots for any other population at this time.
CDC recommends that people with moderately to severely compromised immune systems receive an additional dose of mRNA COVID-19 vaccine at least 28 days after a second dose of Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine.

Like I said before, I don't have a dog in this fight either way and don't care whether people are or aren't vaccinated. It really doesn't affect me personally. I don't think any differently, better or worse of those that are and those that aren't vaccinated.

It is funny though that so many members here who, in thread after thread after thread want to tell us that they aren't getting the vaccine. Nobody is asking them if they will or want to get the jab even though nobody asked. These same individuals who go out of their way, unprovoked to tell us they'll never get it are the same folks who will make fun of those that go on social media bragging about getting the jab. You clowns are just as lame as those woke, liberal 'tards. You're like the new version of the anti-Covid Karens. Nobody is asking you, nobody cares, yet you constant feel the urge and the need to tell all of us.

I'm not discounting this. What I am saying is it's they are not solely recommending booster shots just for the immunocompromised. They are recommending booster shots for everyone after 8 months from their last dose, even those that received the J&J vaccine, and the booster does not have to be the same vaccine you received originally. Booster shots are not for the immunocompromised ONLY. I already have coworkers who ahve already received their booster, and the location I work at is administering them. I have also sat in meetings this past Thursday where this was discussed and announced and would start on 9/20 (yesterday), but what the heck do I know, right?

If you still don't believe me this is taken from the CDC website published 3 days ago: https://www.cdc.gov/media/releases/2...ter-shots.html

"We are prepared to offer booster shots for all Americans beginning the week of September 20 and starting 8 months after an individual’s second dose. At that time, the individuals who were fully vaccinated earliest in the vaccination rollout, including many health care providers, nursing home residents, and other seniors, will likely be eligible for a booster. We would also begin efforts to deliver booster shots directly to residents of long-term care facilities at that time, given the distribution of vaccines to this population early in the vaccine rollout and the continued increased risk that COVID-19 poses to them."
