See what this study proves is that when we raced past 300k, 400k, 500k cases last year, each was delayed by a tiny fraction by mask mandates. So yes, there was a measureable ~2% reduction over several months, but one would have to be an idiot to claim they were effective in lighht of the 500k plus cases that happened mostly in mask mandates places.

This is just more bogus science by the CDC to justify medical tyranny, it's to convince the weak minded and it looks like it's been effective here.

I have some graphs of places with mandates and those without during fall last year, I'll repost them for you at some point so you can see how truely rediculous this position you hold is.

Las Vegas, where I just returned from, has mask mandates in place now. Shouldn't we see a markedly lower rate of infection there when compared to places with no mandates?

I'm also curious about your your handlers thoughts on Biden shipping a million illegals around the country, untested, unvaccinated, many sick with Wuflu. Isn't that a super spreader event thta the Biden admin is forcing on the nation?

BM, you gotta be aware that the CDC is ending the use of the PCR test at the end of the year due to the fact that it can't differentiate between flu and covid. That info right there pretty much invalidates this study, as weak as it was to begin with. That's no conspiracy, that's plain fact, I posted the link to the CDC notice here.

This study is scientifically sound, but it only showed a <2% reduction over the course of months (this seems like bad science or grasping here to me), so last year as we blasted past 300k, 400k, 500k not only did we not know how many were flu cases, but we now know that we met each of those gates just a tiny fraction slower than had we had no mask mandates. If it were a reduction of <2% that might be a meaningful number, but it's not that, it's a small reduction spread over time, making it almost impossible to quantify. If it was <2% of 600k that would be 6000, even that number is no justification for the mandates, and we are not talking deaths, just infections, and the real number is far less than 6k.

That for me is not any indication of effectiveness, the virus was clearly rampant (as was the flu) during the mask mandates and trying to justify them with the thinest of science is just more political BS.

That's not what the notice said dude. In fact, if you look at the original EUA, it absolutely does not trigger on influenza.

CDC is retiring the CDC 2019 Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) Real-Time RT-PCR Diagnostic Panel because the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has authorized hundreds of other SARS-CoV-2 diagnostic tests, many of which are now higher throughput or can test for more than one illness at a time. At the time CDC deployed the 2019-nCoV Real-Time RT-PCR Diagnostic Panel, there were no other FDA-authorized methods available within the United States.

The new tests are better because of throughput reasons or because they can detect multiple ones AT ONCE. It has nothing to do with your crazy idea that it somehow confuses the Covid virus with influenza.

There is not 1 study; that's your problem. You'll pick some random thing that half the time doesn't even say what you think it does, and then use that to try to support your silly arguments.

That's not how the real world works.

The overwhelming number of studies show that masks are effective.

Are they effective 100% of the time and in all circumstances? Of course not. There's plenty of instances where they not.

But that doesn't mean that in general, they don't work. In general, they do work. Period. That's what the data shows.
