The problem with "cases" as an indication of danger is that the definition of cases is designed to mislead people. Cases includes:
1. People sick with covid and verified by laboratory tests, (this is usually valid)
2. People who have no symptoms but have a positive test (the test may be wrong, that is another thread)
3. Cases include people with even vague symptoms but no positive test. Even allergies and normal aches and pains qualify.
4. Anyone who had contact with categories 1 thru 3.
So, it is obvious "cases" is made up of mostly people who do not have covid.
Deaths and hospitalization rates are more significant. But, only when the actual cause of death is confirmed to be directly from covid. On hospitals it is important to understand that an ICU doe not start to make money until they get to ~80% capacity. This is the normal occupancy.
All categories of covid have been exaggerated for political purposes, IMHO.
