CDC to drop 'gold standard' COVID test: PCR risks false positives

Fake news. I looked into it, after seeing tons of articles claiming the same thing.
The CDC apparently withdrawaled the EUA because it only test for COVID19 and not the flu.
From the CDC:
"CDC encourages laboratories to consider adoption of a multiplexed method that can facilitate detection and differentiation of SARS-CoV-2 and influenza viruses. Such assays can facilitate continued testing for both influenza and SARS-CoV-2 and can save both time and resources as we head into influenza season."
There are multiplexed tests that can test for and separately identify COVID19, influenza A and influenza B. RT-PCR is still being used in these multiplex assays.

I'm not saying it true or the CDC is being truthful. It's certain these articles are putting a spin on the CDC's Alert.Comment
