The only reason they have a vaccine early at all is because of Trump.

Someone feels they need to remain consistent with the narrative they're building regarding Republicans being the cause of not being able to achieve herd immunity. By appealing to Trump's ego to suck him in, they can blame the "vast Right-Wing conspiracy" as simply politically motivated; i.e., they won't take the vaccine because Trump lost and the Left gained power. (Remember, what the Left accuses the Right of is, more often than not, what the Left is actually or intends doing.)

That said, this whole thing about getting people the public 'trusts' to stump for the vaccines is very off-putting for a couple of reasons.

If, as they claim, it's conservatives and conspiracy theorists holding things up, then those being 'targeted' wouldn't necessarily trust an high profile individual anyway, particularly Trump. First, many 'conservatives' still have questions regarding Trump's 'conservatism;' regardless of how Calguns members feel. Second, Trump being 'vaccinated' wasn't what 'saved' him when he contracted COVID. It was, supposedly, the Regeneron treatment, among other things. Third, if any of them have read Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six, the question that would arise is whether the 'trusted celebrity' had received Vaccine A or B for the Shiva... I mean... COVID virus.

Now... In reality, most of the vaccine hesitant have their reasons; many of them either legitimate issues or stemming from unanswered questions. (Yes. There are some who are anti-vax or who are conspiracy theory minded or don't trust government or similar. But, my sense is that they don't constitute the majority of the 'vaccine hesitant.')

Among those with legitimate issues would be... 'Devastated' freshman's COVID-19 vaccine medical exemption denied by BYU despite rare disorder

We've discussed the 'unanswered questions' ad nauseum. The primary point being that many such questions cannot be answered... yet. Never mind the dueling experts and issues surrounding 'censorship.'

The point being that appealing to what the Left deems a 'cult of personality' is simply insulting in that not only does it fail to acknowledge the legitimate issues/questions, it is and comes across as a statement regarding the mentality/intelligence of those they deem 'vaccine hesitant.' While such is nothing 'unique' with regard to many on both the Left and the Right, it still doesn't play well in Altoona and, in some cases, raises more questions.

Among the questions is the severe 'mixed/muddled' messaging; something which seems to have gotten worse the harder the Left pushes vaccination. Maybe more accurately, many see the 'mixed/muddled' messaging as symptomatic of TPTB (politicians and medical community) NOT having the answers or enough of the answers to make people feel 'comfortable' with both the safety and the efficacy of the vaccines. (Once again, for those who defend the vaccines as 'safe,' bear in mind that 'promising results' in the Phase trials isn't synonymous with 'safe and effective.') Even if, ultimately, the vaccines are, on balance, demonstrated to be 'safe,' their efficacy is still, very much, in question given they don't (and, evidently, never were intended to) eradicate the virus; something which brings "flu vaccines" to mind for many.

In the end, the harder they 'push,' the stronger the resistance seems to grow. Kinda sounds like a 'normal' cause-effect scenario. Kinda makes one wonder what a true 'mandate' would engender.

Why would they think that would change peoples' minds?

I recommend: take the vaccines. I did it. It's good. Take the vaccines.

Trump is a lot of things, but he isn't particularly knowledgeable in the medical field. He undoubtedly is listening to the "experts", and any expert who isn't on board the government narrative is sidelined, so it will be the government narrative he hears. So unfortunately a PSA from Trump on the vaccines, isn't going to mean any more than one from the CDC for me. Still not taking it.

Nope, not taking the Trump vax until it's been thoroughly tested by the poor and the colored people.

What did the lefties think we are? We are not zombies like them. We don't do things just because someone we support says so. We do things because we feel like it's the right thing to do.

Hey, what if we tie welfare/government programs to the vaccine? Those who can't produce a proof of vax cannot get any government handouts. That should encourage people to get the vax.

^There's a good reason why they haven't done this. My guess is that it's highly illegal.
