Yeah but you know... someone could steal a password of fake an identity. If only there was some way to have it online and prevent false ID. Like a chip in the back of your right hand. For the children, you care about the children don't you?Buy made in USA whenever possible.Comment

I pray Americans are smarter than that. The French are certainly demonstrating they are. We'll see I guess.Comment

Secure digital cloud versions of VAX proof is impossible. Most people got a cheesie paper card. Often they were told to fill them out themselves. There is no digital record to draw from. I guess people could up load a copy of their current card to the cloud.
Anyone else see the obvious problem? Well, it's only a problem if you consider mandatory vax desirable. IF you value personal choice it sounds like a good thing to me.
It is also a HIPPA violation, not that anyone cares about that.Comment

Sure there is. At the very least: the billing records. The vaccines may be 'free' but there is a digital paper trail for administering the shot. Obviously the nature of the entity giving the shot will determine the format of the records, but the data can be extracted and aggregated.
For example, a "friend" of mine ( cough, cough ) got his J&J shot from CVS. In order to get the shot, he had to provide his proof of insurance -or- gov't ID so that somebody could be billed, and CVS would get paid for sticking a needle in his arm. Different providers almost certainly had equivalent requirements.
Generating proof of vaccine cards would not be very hard, using common public-private key technology. ( which underlies everybody's favorite tech: "the blockchain" )
Have trusted parties issue proof of vaccination based on their records. ( This could be paper or a digital image on a phone. ) They use their private key to generate a enhanced barcode with embedded user and vax data, plus a message digest/hash. ( the "signature" )
On the validation side, you have scanners that grab the barcode, lookup the public key of the signer (or it's stored locally, there won't be that many ), and verify the hash.
Not that difficult to implement, and very hard to fake.

Oh her documents were not legal and she is being punished under the Biden admin?
Do you guys understand that people who come here without DACHAUmentation receive more legal merit than anyone here legally who wants a job?!
This is nuts.Comment

Sounds racist. How can you expect people that can't be bothered to get I.D. to vote to be able to provide digital vax proof. To use the CA site, you have to have an account and software, not everybody can do it. In addition, it's only good for a short period of time. Not a passport or replacement.
To get the US digital vax passport, you have to have Facebook, right? Isn't that where you post your vax card? Or is it Instagram or TikTok? Seems I can never keep up with these things....
Personally, a encrypted photo of vax card+ID on your phone sounds like a good idea. Make me decrypt the photo, show my ID AND the vaxcard photo (match with my face/stats), leave the original at home.
I'm joking, but not really.sigpic

And here so many officially refuse to enforce.Comment
