CDC allegedly called my cell tonight

CDC just called my cell # to ask me about the COVID-19 vaccination for me and my family from from a 312 area code out of Chicago. I hung up on them after a minute.

My carrier is Verizon and they are good about screening spam calls so I think it's legit. What a waste of tax dollars if it is.

I have just over 2 years left to retire from the military, I'm hoping to avoid this vaccine before it becomes mandatory.

Update: I looked up the # and it is in fact the CDC

I simply don't answer numbers I don't recognize, which are all in my phone book anyway. I let it go to voicemail. If no voicemail, I simply clear my recent calls. Those who leave voicemails are rarely mportant so I delete those as well.

What Is Spoofing?

Just because the caller ID matched, doesn't really prove anything.

Also, VZW does not do a reasonable job of screening spam.

We still get many calls from numbers that we have "blocked"....

I used to go to the trouble of blocking the numbers also. However, I simply realized that doing so was pointless as there are so many fake numbers. Now I simply delete them and waste no more time with them.
