My hearing has been so bad for so long that if I have trouble hearing someone I just say, "I'm hard of hearing so you'll have to speak pretty loudly for me to hear you." and either they're too stupid to get it or they speak louder. Some even pull the mask down to make it easier on me.

That is what I do. Some of them are maskie-mumblers who look the the floor when they speak to you. It is impossible to communicate with them. What happened to speak up and look in the other person's eyes. My father had me doing that at age 6.

I've dealt with this before. When dealing with FOB's, soft spoken people mumbling, ESL types it's even worse. Totally sounds like they have a phallus in their mouth or Charlie Brown's teacher or Meatwad from Aqua Teen Hunger Force.
