How do we get to herd immunity

First time I heard of "Herd Immunity" was from the Swedes who early on in Feb 2020 (waaaaay before Fauci or the MSM dared to repeat the heretic term) said protect the vulnerable and let young, resilient people get it. By eliminating vectors of transmission (the youngs), then the olds are less likely to get it.

With the introduction of the vaccine where vulnerable people can be "protected" then the concept of herd immunity is now irrelevant.

The term herd immunity is only relevant when presented as a contrast to complete economic lockdown.
The term, which in 2020 was considered "irresponsible" is now being used an emotional appeal to guilt people into getting vaccinated.

What is the use of herd immunity if vulnerable people can voluntarily get the vaccine in the United States?

If they use "force" on tens of millions of people - first of all, good luck with that- but even if they tried, it should be confirmation to even the most naive, that this isn't about an illness.

If force is the hill they want to die on - then we know there's something not being told.
