Oregon Mask Mandates Will Be... Permanent? It's Complicated. (Adopted 5/4/21)

With my condolences to Librarian (and others)... As mask mandates end, Oregon bucks trend with permanent rule

Well, I guess, at least by comparison, this is one of the 'benefits' of the recall effort here in California. Even if Newsom isn't really listening, at least he's demonstrating a reluctance for more "in your face" authoritarian rule so long as the recall is on the table. Maybe if Oregonians get pushed hard enough, they too will start to... push back in a similar manner?

But wait, I though they were part of "free America" ?

Does anyone still think that they can move away from liberal tyranny, by simply leaving California?

      Oregon? Not hardly.

And yes, you can. It's been done.

This sounds to me like Oregon just out-California'd California.

Yep, we did, we have NO mask mandate any longer among so many other things that people still in California will never experience staying in that God forsaken hole.

The idea may become kind of a great migration between blue and red states.

Formerly, the idea amongst retirement-age people was was that the hammer would not come down until they were dead of old age. My friend's parents moved to Idaho in 2006 back before it was a thing and have been doing pretty well.

Oregon is a wonderful state in so many ways too, what a shame that they are trying this.. But maybe they will come to their senses. Deep down blue states know there is only so much oppression they can get away with before even regular people get sick of it and flee along with their tax dollars.

If California completely dropped mask and antisocial distamcing mandates, what percentage of people and businesses would still do it?

Most, just like hear in Utah (at least in national chains).

There are lots of dummies that will wear their sheep mask forever.

Incredibly so many now feel naked without a mask.

Oh... This is going to play well... An Oregon church that sued the governor over COVID-19 restrictions will still open on Mother's Day despite now being linked to 74 virus cases

...According to data published on May 5 by the Oregon Health Authority, 74 people associated with the People's Church in the city of Salem contracted COVID-19 between April 6 and April 29.

During that time the church has continued to hold in-person services, according to videos and photos posted on its Facebook page. In a number of videos, worshippers can be seen without masks and not observing social distancing.

The church's website indicates in-person services and events will include Mother's Day services scheduled for Sunday, AP reported...
Just when the State thought they had everything, especially the People, under control.

I drive through Oregon about once a month, and make it a point to not spend one thin dime on the way through. I do stop to make deposits in their highway rest stops, though..... And never put a mask on.
