    Paper masks and your health

Respiratory infection is much higher among healthcare workers wearing cloth masks compared to medical masks, research shows. Cloth masks should not be used by workers in any healthcare setting, authors of the new study say.

The study found respiratory infection was much higher among healthcare workers wearing cloth masks.

The penetration of cloth masks by particles was almost 97%

There also seems to be issues with particulate inhalation. Some of the surgical masks use graphene and there is concern with inhaling the tiny bits of graphene and that it might become logged in the lung and cause health problems.

Sounds like mesothelioma just waiting to happen. Anyone willing to be on the likelihood of ambulance chaser commercials in 5 years seeking people who were harmed by inhaling mask particles?

Just remember this. If treatments become approved and employers make it mandatory, a mask may be considered reasonable accommodation. Just a thought.

Here's the most thorough study I've come across on masks and it's pretty alarming.

Many countries across the globe utilized medical and non-medical facemasks as non-pharmaceutical intervention for reducing the transmission and infectivity of coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19). Although, scientific evidence supporting facemasks’ ...

And here's a part from the conclusion.

The data suggest that both medical and non-medical facemasks are ineffective to block human-to-human transmission of viral and infectious disease such SARS-CoV-2 and COVID-19, supporting against the usage of facemasks. Wearing facemasks has been demonstrated to have substantial adverse physiological and psychological effects. These include hypoxia, hypercapnia, shortness of breath, increased acidity and toxicity, activation of fear and stress response, rise in stress hormones, immunosuppression, fatigue, headaches, decline in cognitive performance, predisposition for viral and infectious illnesses, chronic stress, anxiety and depression.
