I knew people who had covid, I went to their house, I didn't care. They had flu-like symptoms so I treated it like the flu. I knew other people who were "exposed" to covid, spent time with people who had it, I didn't care, we did not change our behavior at all.

Like much else in life, the answer to your question has a lot to do with how much risk you can absorb and how willing you are to accept that risk.

Are you and your family vaccinated? Is there anyone in your family at very high risk (ie over 80)? If you or your family members get sick for a week or two, will it have a severely harmful effect on your family's finances?

Is the other family vaccinated? Conversely, do they have any high risk members in the event your family infects theirs?

House cleaning doesn't really matter. It's a respiratory illness, and if they are infected no amount of surface sanitizing will make much of a difference.

Current CDC guidelines, IIRC, are that vaccinated people may spend time with other vaccinated people (once they are past the immunity building period). I think that's a good guideline. Whether you choose to do that masked or not is a matter of further risk willingness.

Depends. Are the kids parents Liberals? If so you may want say no. Not sure what housekeeping has to do with Covid? Now, if they had lice, then it matters.
