Our former resident COVID "experts" would say there is no data to support that the lockdowns have increased suicide rates.

Why are they not reporting the actual number of suicides for 2020? During July, many places said it was 3x the number in 2019, but no one is saying exactly how many there were in 2020.

As 2020 went on, I suspect it became many more than 3x and the CDC should have the data to report. They should also report how many drug overdoses occurred in 2020. The mid summer reports said it was 20% higher than 2019, but again, no actual numbers.

I do not believe the story. It is all hype and no data. Conspicuously absent are the student suicide rates for 2020, or any other year. There is nothing in the article that shows a causation relationship between the suicides and school closures.
I think schools should be reopening. I also think school closures have had a severe detrimental effect on students, but I absolutely reject this kind of sloppy reporting.

If being home is killing students by significant increase - why don't home schoolers have this problem?

Some kids adapt to remote school some do not. I have one of each. Kids that voluntarily do home schooling tend to be the ones who have been successful a it. The parents are also involved in the education. Many parents do not value or involve themselves in their children's education. That is recipe for disaster with remote school. The number of children failing grades is off the charts this year.
