So not sure where to really post this, hopefully this is the right section - if not Mods please move.
During normal times or at least what passes for normal in Cali (if anyone can remember that far back) there is always a push to support your local FFLs and LGS. Certainly reasonable if they are good folks.
With the passage of more and more laws, supporting them or using them has become less optional and more a requirement - case in point the sale of ammo between 2 private parties. We are required now by law to do this at an FFL - not going to debate the merits of this law here, it's the law and we all obey laws. That being said during the pandemic the majority of FFL's have opted to take the position that they will not do either PPT's or ammo transfers for whatever reason they may have. This may be unique to the S.F. Bay Area or may be all of CA I do not know, I am in the bay area so that is what I do know.
I question is this legal? Is this right? Is there any recourse? I admit one local FFL was so rude about it that I called and reported them to the CA DOJ but that is not really a sustainable approach since we do need FFL's in business but if they arent willing to conduct business unless it puts big $$ in their pockets what are citizens to do? I know that PPT's / ammo transfers dont make them money on the other hand just about every FFL I have walked into at this point is out of stock on firearms and ammo, hell the store I visited in Vacaville over the weekend - that is how far I had to drive to conduct a PPT, had nothing apart from 1-3 shotguns and bumper stickers for sale!
