Thought this would interest some here.

By this point, people are dug in on one side or another. Because you know, “the science” from March hasn’t changed at all.

Those graphs would mean “the party of science” didn’t wait long enough to see the science unfold.

I refer to them as the 'science tribe' as the 'science' they refer to is more like tribalism and superstition than science. Why I'm sure Dr. Fauxi is shaking his bag of bones at the sky as we speak, so we can all rest assured we are protected under his wisdom.

I have worked as a scientist for over 40 years ( hope to retire next year finally) and science is indeed a relgion to some people. Here is my opinion of "science" accuracy:
Psychology ~Political science << Sociology < Biology < Chemistry < Physics. i.e. not all sciences were created equal.

Like "climate change (formerly global warming)" there is so much politics influencing this "pandemic" that its accuracy or truly science is very very questionable.

This is kinda silly, since mask mandates were all implemented as a reaction to outbreaks, rather than preemptively. In fact, for a good number of states, they didn't implement a mandate until it got REALLY bad. This is kind of like saying here's the number of cops who got shot before body armor became mandated, and look at the number of cops who've been shot since then! Wow, rates have gone up like 1000%! Therefore, body armor must cause cops to get shot.

Does no one else see stuff like this, or do you just not want to? This is just one problem I see right off the bat, there's a whole bunch of other ones (like not all mandates are equal, not all masks are equal, not all populations adhere equally well or at all, etc).

Some really interesting data in those graphs that probably has iess to do with masks or at least their (non) effectiveness. The CA vs FL graph looks like an inverted temperature graph, with infections low through Summer and early fall, then after Halloween infection spikes when the weather cools while Florida's milder climate sees a more moderate increase in the fall. The same can be said for Maine, Pennsylvania, and Delaware graphs.

Here in Utah the cases and severity of cases tended to spike about the same time that the weather changed as well. Seems like the rona behaves a lot like a (severe) common cold.
The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public's money.

that's an interesting observation, and I suspect you've hit upon at least some truth there. cold weather will definitely make it tougher to ventilate, tougher to avoid gathering in confined spaces, etc.

That's one of the things about my first winter here in Utah... once the temperature drops it is difficult to sleep with a window open and I feel like it is difficult to get fresh air in the house. I have to go for daily walks to feel the fresh air. In California if the temperature reached 60 I would open a window or two and run the whole house fan for a few minutes. I don't mind the cold temps but not ventilating is an issue.

So you're saying that, to the casual observer this virus seems to follow the seasonality of the flu virus and just like the flu virus it still spreads in summer but just a a lower rate and then we see an increase as temps fall around the nation.

I agree with this observation and would go a step further to state that the fear montering from late spring/early summer about the spread of this virus making it different than a typical flu virus were just fear mongering.

Lots of new science will come out of the massive testing system this president helped build, never in history have we in the US ever tested tens or hundreds of millions of people so the science of how we understand viral spread will change and I doubt we will return to the old CDC system of testing a couple hundred thousand and then extrapolating 60 million infections of the flu.
