    Lies and statistics

CDC reports 17.6 million cases. For argument say that is half of actual exposed/infected people. That gives 35 million people who would be covid positive upon autopsy. 35 million is about 10% of the population. 2.8 million die each year. 10% of 2.8 million is 280K. Add some flu deaths, as we lump them with covid now, and you have the supposed death count, about 330 thousand.

IF you look at CDC’s chart,

    Updated December 21, 2020
Week ending date in which the death occurred

    All Deaths involving COVID-19 285,548

    Deaths from All Causes 2,823,030

    Percent of Expected Deaths 111

Deaths involving Pneumonia, with or without COVID-19, excluding Influenza deaths 274,364

Deaths involving COVID-19 and Pneumonia, excluding Influenza 131,157

All Deaths involving Influenza, with or without COVID-19 or Pneumonia includes COVID-19 or Pneumonia 6,915

Deaths involving Pneumonia, Influenza, or COVID-19 434,603

You can see that all deaths is not 330K as being reported. It is 285K. But, most appropriate column is not “all deaths involving covid”. It is the 5th column, deaths covid+pneumonia excluding flu. Pneumonia is an expected symptom of covid. That is the best number for people who died directly of covid infection.

The big numbers being circulated are obviously massaged to scare the population and do not reflect reality. This reflects all people who died WITH covid antibodies or PCR upon autopsy. It is a deliberate trick of statistics to mislead you and cultivate panic.

The deaths from all causes number is below the totals for 2018 and 2019 and there's only two more weeks to go. Looks like we will be on par for a normal year based on past annual death rates unless 100k people die before the 31st.

Amazing isn't it? But you know the liberal spin... "the masks and lockdowns saved millions!"

There is no way to get to the excess death numbers being touted unless you are using pre 2016 "all cause" death numbers for the baseline.

If you take the 2019 all cause death numbers and add 1.3% to it (average yearly increase for the last 3 years), we still have ~90K deaths to go to reach the expected number.

The part I highlighted isn't quite accurate. I'm not sure of the total percentage of Covid-19 positive people that also get pneumonia, but I'm pretty sure it's not "expected."

My fiancee did get pneumonia, while I didn't. She ended up in the hospital for 12 days. Also, the pneumonia combined with Covid in her case was worse than "normal" pneumonia. Lung inflammation was really bad. She ended up needing remdesivir and then tocilizumab before she recovered. Tocilizumab is a new treatment, part of a trial. In theory, I should have had it worse, since I'm a cancer/stem cell transplant survivor.
I really think there is a lot we don't know yet, and it's going to be a while....
              Wishing everyone good health!

Also, CDC said they believe actual infected is 8x positive tests. Last week or the week before they said that.

We would all be dead if it weren't for masks and lockdowns. Fact.

I said that would be mantra way back when this crap first started.
