Well those people seem to think that masks are going to save them so yeah, not really surprising...

First, young people seem to be more likely to embrace totalitarianism. I guess it has to do with modern education. The kids seem to have been conditioned to do as told without questioning. The resistors seem to be middle aged and older people. They were the last generations to to not be indoctrinated in the public schools.

I suppose she is following the california guidelines, "It’s now required that everyone in California must wear a mask or face covering when outside of their home, with limited exceptions. Read more in the expanded mask guidance."

When you read more you see it is not required if you maintain 6' outdoors.

Individuals are exempt from wearing face coverings in the following specific settings:
Persons in a car alone or solely with members of their own household.
Persons who are working in an office or in a room alone.
Persons who are actively eating or drinking provided that they are able to maintain a distance of at least six feet away from persons who are not members of the same household or residence.
Persons who are outdoors and maintaining at least 6 feet of social distancing from others not in their household. Such persons must have a face covering with them at all times and must put it on if they are within 6 feet of others who are not in their household.
Persons who are obtaining a service involving the nose or face for which temporary removal of the face covering is necessary to perform the service.
Workers who are required to wear respiratory protection.
Persons who are specifically exempted from wearing face coverings by other CDPH guidance.

The county health officer makes up extra restrictions. When you call them and check they pile on extra rules they pulled out of their @$$.

All of my clubs require a mask while outdoors and with 6' distance. IT seems to be a personality quirk that some people think more is better and they must do more to please the authority. These same people seem to be drawn to leadership roles in hobby clubs. They fear being shut down by a public health officers who might be lurking in the bushes with binoculars. I avoid all such groups. That has cost me about a grand in club dues for unused club facilities this year.
