When will the covid restrictions end? (poll)

I live in TX, I'd like to think it's a 'free' state but IMO covid restrictions here are still rather heavy:
    - Restaurants only partially open
    - Bars supposedly 50% now... but haven't checked
    - Masks 'mandatory in public' virtually everywhere
    - Many small businesses closed (eg tubing/rafting)
    - Parks partially open, very restricted (eg 25% capacity, reservation only)

What's worse is that I see the brainwashing (or 'compliance', if you favor the measures) is almost 100%. If I go to a big box store, everyone in the store except myself is wearing a mask. I'll be lucky to spot one other person without one. Once I exit, all those people keep wearing their masks in the parking lot!

In the city of Austin this would be expected since it's very liberal. But it's also true with at least a 30 mile radius. One must venture about 60 miles away before encountering people who care less but all the mandates and store signs remain. Businesses don't want to get shut down, can't blame them. (I'll wear a mask when entering a restaurant, although this too is a worthless measure since I sit down immediately after and remove my filthy mask...)

90 miles out town, in a vast park measuring hundreds of acres, masks still mandatory.

    When will this madness end?

I'd guess different demographics at different times. And of course how the politico winds blow.

I don't foresee any "fall" time period for opening because of the general flu seasons.

Tomorrow would be fine with me though and I'm a older guy. Personal responsibility and all that...

    Respectfully

It will end when a vaccine is on the market. For all we know it could be a shot of Vitamin C, its doesn't matter its going to cost trillions and kill more than it save, but its going to make drones happy and feel safe, **** it, were doomed, we are better off dead...the way this world is going.

Masks, like in the Orient, will be with us forever, especially in metropolis areas with mass transportation.
People who now live in fear will pass these fears onto their children.

Asians didn't have mask mandates before COVID.. There was no social distancing.. Most didn't wear them and many of those that did we'd see on tv was because of pollution.

Only an unlikely 100% preventive vaccine will end those ridiculous overabundance of caution measures here.

It will end when the people start telling the government to shove it and ignore the BS.

The November 3rd people are going to be proven hilariously wrong.

sd_shooter.....the restrictions in Texas will end when Abbott gets an injection of Cajones for Men. Until then, he is too busy trying to stand on top of the pilates ball so he won't offend anyone but the people who voted him into office

Agree. I don't think this will go away, for the following reasons:
                              - As much as we like to say "This is all because Orange Man Bad", that's only partially true. This is a global event.
                              - The virus doesn't look at politics. Yes, it's been exaggerated here in the USA due to politics (even exacerbated), but even if all that is stripped away we still have a bug to deal with
                              - The MSM and Democrats cities/states don't want this thing to go away because it gives them an excuse to say "I told you so." They don't care about anything except political advantage.

I actually think he's doing a decent job given that he must walk a tightrope between the Openers and Closers. TX does have a lot of covid. Should he open 100% like some other states? I wish he would, but he would have to endure a great deal of backlash.

We have two problems unique to TX that will never be addressed in the media:
                              - The border. Why have they not sealed the Mexico border?
                              - Large latino population. It's a fact that this demographic has a higher incidence of covid. The media/'scientists' love to paint with a broad brush and ignore details that would help in addressing the problems. (eg. Fauci treating the entire USA as a single entity rather than allowing for regional differences in the covid handling)
