    Sense its Ending?

Does it not seem like the whole thing is coming to an end?

    1. 15 minute testing - shipping already 6.5 million units this week; 100m by the end of October?

    2. Vaccines likely Nov/December - I haven't heard any of the 30k trials going bad yet?

While the media has reported increases in x number of states I don't see it being front and center in the news like it was.
    1. Compared to what?
    2. At what cost?
    3. What hard evidence do you have?

The headline in the local rag here is "Report: Arizona has 4th highest rate of COVID-19 cases among children in US" without any actual meaningful supporting statistics on what the numbers actually are, what they compare to, or anything. Percentages don't mean much without context. It is a totally worthless article other then to promote fear.

As soon as the election is over, this thing will quietly go away.

Like antifa and BLM, Covid is given top news priority (without neutral analysis) by the left-wing press.

If they wanted us to know the truth, there would be tons of vaccine updates.

But good news only helps the republicans in this election cycle, sooooooo...

Seriously..... what else need be said? COVID panic is driven by the media, for the benefit of the Demorcats.

The MSM has a narrow focus and a very short attention span. Right now the big shiny objects are the Presidential election/Supreme Court nomination battle. The virus will be mostly ignored until Nov. 3rd. However, the actual data says the virus is far from over.

Thanks - I think it is lazy reporting to link and just repeat with no value added. In essence, the link is what engineers call a 'trade study' with weighted metrics. Change the weighting and get different answers, unless you perform a sensitivity analysis. It doesn't answer the basic question of why kids are in danger. The article assumes (or, implies that the read assumes) that 'getting' the virus is akin to dying from it, which isn't at all true. Especially for children. Therefore, I conclude the article is BS and was written to make a point in contract to the OP's speculation. What is the death rate for kids? IDK, but have read it is virtually zero. They picked their metrics and choose their weighting factors to get the answer they wanted.

I haven't had the chance to really look at that article in detail, but I would agree with you that sensationalist journalism - and outright fabrications - are a very real problem in the 21st century. It's always been around (randolph hearst basically made his fortune off of it), but with the completely domination of media by the internet the craft of journalism is seriously on the decline. people want to hear what they want to hear; people only want to see what they want to see. long articles with well cited sources are TLDR; people are offended that they might have to see ads in their media, let alone actually pay for a subscription.

combine that with a serious deficiency of critical reading and logic skills in public school in favor of pursuing "accountability" in the form of synthetic benchmarks, and we here we are.

Bottom line is most people just glance at the headline and draw a conclusion. Many articles are so poorly written and/or obfuscated that I can't make sense of them!

                      ^ This 100%.

Not sure how many people remember the insurance prop 103. Late 80’s IIRC. I was president of our local Professional Insurance Agents Association at that time. For that reason I sat on the state board as well. I was up to speed on exactly what prop 103 would do.

There were probably hundreds of news articles written about prop 103. NONE of them were accurate. That’s when I learned first hand how the media had an agenda and is basically FOS.

Oh, and just made my first Costco run here in CA since almost 3 months ago. While most folks were still wearing a rag on their faces. I had only my covid beard. (Haven’t shaved since March) No one said a peep. All the bug-eyed looks were gone. So yes OP, I think we’re done with this nonsense.

I fully expect a MSM scare campaign a week or two before election day to keep the trump supporters away while the ballot harvesting goes into overdrive.

Take the masks off and take a deep breath, doesn't it feel good?

Still have NOT worn a mask, bandana/hankerchef instead, and rip it off before going out of the door of whatever store etc. Here in the SFO/East Bay region there are still plenty of sheeple everywhere, mask on in the car, walking outside on the sidewalk, in the open air parks etc. And a fool arse gubnor still issuing wannabe decrees as to who can and cannot reopen for business.
