Completely spurious claim debunked by even a brief perusal of the OIG report. It was an idiotic narrative in 2016 and it's still an idiotic narrative now.https://pjmedia.com/news-and-politic...vid-19-n954086
More Veterans died (300,000) because of the Obola / Biden admin administration and those were their fault, directly, not China.
The OIG report is an indictment of a terrible record keeping system. In no realm of existence did it imply 300,000 veterans die due to lack of care.
Congress commissioned RAND to conduct a study on the VA and found wait times where in line with private insurance:
An OIG report of the Phoenix VA, found 6 deaths due to clinically significant delays in receiving care:
OIG examined the electronic health records (EHRs) and other information for the 3,409 veteran patients, including the 40 patients reflected above in PVAHCS’s records, and identified 28 instances of clinically significant delays in care associated with access to care or patient scheduling. Of these 28 patients, 6 were deceased.
So NO the VA delays in processing applications for health care, home loans, etc did not kill 300,000 veterans.Critical Thinking Skills:

"Now we have learned some of the unusual characteristics of the new virus, better treatments (anti-inflammatory steroids, anti-coagulants and in particular, oxygen masks and not ventilators in the main) the ‘case fatality rate’ even for the most hard-hit individuals is far lower now than it was six months ago."
Even an anti-lockdown virus skeptic agrees with my statement regarding therapies and standard of care.
https://www.statnews.com/2020/08/24/infection-fatality-rate-shows-covid-19-isnt-getting-less-deadly/The infection fatality rate in Arizona this summer is similar to that of the U.S. in the spring, and the ratio of deaths to hospitalizations in Arizona is very close to that in New York City this spring.
"The supposed reduction in lethality of Covid-19 has been largely attributed to improvements in treatments; earlier identification of Covid-19 infections, allowing for rapid medical intervention; and protection from infection of older higher-risk individuals."
If, you don't believe that therapeutics and standard of care are mostly responsible for the lower CFR, then you probably believe covid is some politically motivated hoax and live in some weird alternate reality where facts and statistics are all "fake".Last edited by balgor; 09-22-2020, 11:18 PM.Critical Thinking Skills:

It hit Europe first and it's 100% over in those countries. There are places with 'cases' but without the corresponding hospitalizations or deaths.
- Sweden: One of the few places to take the virus head-on, virtually no cases and there are no deaths
- Spain: A second wave of faked 'cases' but virtually no hospitalizations/deaths
- France: Like Spain
- Italy: Now a nothingburger
England is experiencing a 'surge' of faked cases, much like is reported here. Yet - without the hospitalizations/deaths.
The virus used to be Flu-like, now it's cold-like at best.
Covid ate the available 'food' (the old & infirmed), it has little effect on the young & healthy. Most people have little to worry about.
See for yourself:
Daily and weekly updated statistics tracking the number of COVID-19 cases, recovered, and deaths. Historical data with cumulative charts, graphs, and updates.
The global handling of the virus is criminal. England is talking about another shutdown, yet look at the data. Obviously the virus is either harmless or the PCR testing is completely bogus.
Let's look at the UK
'Cases' look terrifying, right? There should be mass graves!

Yes, I'll wager that hospitals are below regular capacity due to the scare. Covid has no bite, no sting. It's harmless.

If your statement is true, then why is everything still locked down?
- First it was flatten the curve: Done!
- Now it's mask up and lock down forever....
If the hospitals and morgues are empty due to the new therapies, why continue the restrictions?Comment

Yes, around 50 people got it at work with one guy reporting "that was rough". All still alive and back to work. "Like a cold" was how most described it. I've only heard anecdotal stories of peoples' sisters, uncles, bosses, neighbors, wifes, uncles, grandmas, former secretaries, local cashiers brother going to the hospital or dying.vindicta inducit ad salutem?Comment

For me, I've known at least 10 people that have had it/recovered. Ages range from 21-60. Some had very minor symptoms, some a little worse. One case where an older person decided to go to a family gathering, knowingly with a fever, managed to infect at least 6 others....Comment

Just got news that my coworker passed away two weeks ago.
She hasn't showed up to work. Just found out why.
17% lung capacity and intubated.
Keep in mind. She was severely overweight, had diabetes, but would not take care of her eating at all..... everyone knew she was diabetic, she always said, "well if we're all going to do, might as well enjoy life"....RIP
She was 57Comment

The tent they setup for the covid apocalypse at the hospital my wife works at has never been used. They havent had a "covid" death in a couple weeks. The last one was an 70+ year old woman with a history of chronic heart disease. She had her 2nd heart attack at home, was brought to the ER, she coded 3 times during the night and died... of yep, death cert. said COVID... cha ching $$$$$ for the hospital! There are many cases like this- there are a couple doctors documenting this charade, they are thinking about writing a book...
BTW, the ICU at this particular hospital has never been "overwhelmed"...
We heard Mercy San Juan had a dozen pts., and Kaiser might have had a few more...Comment

i.e. all the wailing and gnashing of teeth over ventilators was bs. Which resulted in waste of time, money and caused many lives to be lost. Check.Comment

95%+ sure my brother and I had it back in Feb.
Brother flew in Wednesday for a wedding from Snohomish via SEA.
Thursday we went to shoot clays with 2 other brothers. I shared my shotgun with him. Our others brothers shared a different gun.
I remember having a little tickle in my throat during the wedding Saturday afternoon. By Saturday night both of us had bright red faces. I felt like I couldn’t get any air inside the wedding banquet room. Went to bed with a fever. Had the chills and sweated it out. Dry cough lasted 3 weeks.
I felt like i had been in a physical fight for a few days. No appetite but I forced some soup. Pretty much back to normal after 3 days except for the cough.
My brother did go to the hospital Sunday because his wife insisted. There was no covid test available then. But he tested negative for influenza.
Our experience is why I think the government reaction is so overblown. 2 of us obviously had it. We had several gatherings with 50-100 people together in close quarters. Hugging, kissing etc. 6 people in the entire group said they caught something. And we have a lot of old fat people in our group.
The first US covid case was confirmed in Snohomish on Jan. 21. Patient zero commuted to Seattle, just like my brother, for 4 days before he was discovered. Patient zero had just returned from Wuhan. Oh, the wedding was Feb. 29.Last edited by therealnickb; 09-23-2020, 9:40 AM.Comment
