Covid genetically enginered

So I have felt since day 1, if this is a naturally occurring virus, it is an over hyped virus by the media. Similar viruses may have occurred in the past history of man and we were just told it was a really bad flu season. Technology has allowed medicine now to identify and name them better and media ran with this one.
Another thought I had was this is possibly a virus genetically engineered, and it got out on accident or on purpose.
Most sources now say naturally occurring. Man made virus is for crazy conspiracy people they say.
I am currently about 95/5 on the issue.

Look at all the diseases that have ravaged mankind over our history. Black plague, measles, the 1918 Spanish Flu, cholera. Nature has no problem coming up with ways to wipe us out, and it will continue to happen until the end of man. Why is it so hard to believe that covid is naturally occurring?

There is no actual evidence that it was made in a lab, unless you count fake picture memes on Facebook. If it was genetically engineered, you can bet it would have a much higher mortality rate than a few percent.

It is not hard to believe like I said 95/5. 95 percent in my belief is it is naturally occurring. I guess the 5 percent of shadow of doubt is in my nature because I do not trust the Chinese Government, and the common sense part of me with the Wuhan Lab , what it does and the fact that it originated there.

A case against a "naturally" occurring virus.

When a virus moves from one species to another it is not well positioned. It is typically poor at its job because it doesnt have evolutionary experience with that host, so its not good at leaping between that hosts cells which means its always in low numbers and its not good at transmitting from one individual to the next. Thats the key question when something leaps into a new species and becomes a pandemic its because it has solved that second problem. There is no evidence in the case of this virus that that happened. It showed up in Wuhan and spread immediately. It became pandemic. It already had the means and experience. How it got that experience we dont know. What we do know is that this virus was well adapted to our cells and well adapted to transmit between individuals and that is suspicious.
