SF just put a stop to their "muni" rail system indefinitely because someone in their control office tested positive. One person.
      1. Compared to what?
      2. At what cost?
      3. What hard evidence do you have?

I can tell you the preventative measures are an illusion. There are still homeless encampments all over following no protocols. These people should be some of the most vulnerable. Bad health living in filth and squalor. They're thriving like nothing ever happened.

Or they are sick, but no one gives a $*** because they look as miserable and disgusting as they always have.

Unless a homeless person collapses in the middle of the street (and one not in skid row, at that), nobody cares if they live or die. In fact, most probably hope they will die, just somewhere far away. In my city we have Project Room Key, and even though it is only for 58+ elderly homeless without criminal records, STILL residents want them out. Even though the hotel is about to go under from lack of travellers, STILL residents want them out.

I've got no answers for the problem at all, but I do think that there is something rotten in the state if the wealthiest country in the world essentially leaves its poorest citizens to, as Capulet put it, "hang, beg, starve, die in the streets."

There's plenty who are hopeless cases, and for those perhaps letting them kill themselves is the only option, but there are also plenty who are just poor. And, many with little children. Last year I put together at least a dozen or more care packages for families living out of cars. These were mom, dad, 15 year old, 8 year old, all living in a car. Even in a so called liberal bastion like Los Angeles, there's precious few resources. The kids ask for seconds during breakfast at school so they can take it home.

SFO IS a world of its own making. Don't try to measure it against anything that makes sense ! Looonng time being this way.

If it saves just one life.
Life can be tough and unforgiving. People die everyday from all sorts of illnesses, accidents, foul play. Stuff happens. These "preventative" measures have gone too far.

That's a wall of text that does not address anything I said. Either they're getting it and surviving just fine or they're getting sick, dying and the city is covering it up. I have not seen less homeless around the city. In fact I see more. There are some resident hobos that have been around for years. Still there. We have enough homeless here in close quarters encampments that every hospital should have overwhelmed every major hospital. It simply didn't happen. I highly doubt there's some cover up going on. That only leaves 2 explanations. They're immune (unlikely) or it's not that bad and even those living in squalor survived it easily.
