heard them chatter about this on the radio this morning; the current projection is 300,000 American's dead by December due to Covid? Is that right? Thought the death rate was in decline? That doesn't sound like much of a decline? Curious what model they used?

The death rate is/was in decline. And then the protests happened and the number of cases and then the deaths went up as well. With the lack of compliance for guidelines to slow the spread of COVID-19, 300,000 dead appears correct. With a 95% compliance rate that extra 140,000 dead would be cut in half to only an additional 70,000 dead.

That is very true at least here in LA. My part of LA nobody bothered to protest except maybe a small group of high school kids, who did a silent protest at their own school. When reopening first started I was hopeful because there seemed to be something like a plan. But it went from 0 to 60 almost right away because people wanted to believe so badly
