    AAAAAARG!

Our beloved Gov'ner has just SHUT DOWN RESTAURANTS AGAIN! My workplace is in one of the watched counties, things were finally getting back to normal, now we have been banned from indoor service for a minimum of 3 weeks?! We're a fairly big restaurant with a lot of employees, big overhead, and extremely limited outdoor seating. Might as well just switch back to takeout only! I put a TON of effort into keeping this place running, doing my utmost every day to keep the employees in compliance with state orders, and maintain my head chef responsibilities, and it's all out the window. AGAIN! AAAAAARGH! Blood, sweat, tears...HEART AND SOUL go into this restaurant!

Dammit. I'm super frustrated right now. Sorry for the venting, guys. Gonna get myself a drink.

STILL LOVE MY COUNTRY...even if the govt. does me dirty.

Yeah don't wear masks dont follow social distancing guidelines and you end up with more cases giving the governor an excuse to shut things down. You know he was just waiting for a reason.

That truly sucks! If anyone has the right to vent, it would be you. I could only imagine how frustrating it would be to keep a business running when the rules keep changing. Hang in there.

Sorry to hear this, thanks to the people who don't comprehend that their inability to follow the guidelines has an affect on business and others.

Hey I'm sorry to hear this buddy. I can't speak to the wisdom of shutting down - I'm glad I don't have to make that decision.

But the economic pain of basically being prevented from earning income is undeniable. I'd be very glad to visit your restaurant when times are better, or if you're in LA I'd be glad to come get takeout. It sounds like you were doing your best to follow all the rules, take care of all your employees. I'm in the same boat; and for the same reason I get really frustrated when I see people deliberately break establishments' policies or act inconsiderately.

The state should be required to compensate these restaurants for lost product. Any of this **** should require fair notice so that restaurant owners can take care of their stores and perishables.

Didn't LA County start requiring masks in Mid April? And what have the numbers looked like in that county since? I haven't checked for a few days but LA County was leading the charge to the bottom. Maybe the 4th of July weekend was the only excuse Newscum needed.

This is a combination of bullying and of gas lighting. Blaming the citizens for exercising their rights then punishing them is intimidation. Perhaps the blame lies with tyrants?

I choose to follow the orders and do my best to make sure the others at work do as well because, while I have a lot invested in the company (mentally and physically), it's not my company to risk. As small as the threat of the "Iron Fist of the State" is, I can't gamble with someone else's livelihood. This restaurant is my paycheck, as a long time professional chef it is also my career and reputation; it's so much MORE to the owner. Every action I take, whether or not I agree with it, has an effect on others and I won't be responsible for any harm that is to come on a business that has provided me with so much over the last few years. If he chooses to resist, then I will support his decision until the state forces us to close. If he chooses to comply, I will put all my effort into arranging storage and dispersal of any perishables that need it, and will do everything in my power to support him in a to-go oriented model.

My personal feelings and beliefs on compliance do not give me the right to do anything that will bring harm upon the livelihood of another freedom-loving, tax-paying, constitution supporting American...especially in his own house. In my free time, I live in a free country and will express my freedoms in the way every red blooded American should.

Once I get the okay from the big boss, I'll post the name. He and I tend to have aligned views on many subjects, but it is his business in the end so gotta make sure he's cool with CG.

Also, thanks for the support, guys. We have a good community here, and California (as crap as it may be) is far better off for it. I am still filled with righteous indignation, but have had a minute to calm down and process things. California may hate us, but what's new? We will continue to survive and thrive, even if it takes a little more effort.

Guess what? More cases doesn't mean more hospitalizations, it means more testing is taking place. New cases should not even be a factor in these decisions. Hospitalizations should be the only thing we look at. Cases and hospitalizations are NOT correlated.
