I'll start with the obligatory, "Cool story, Brah." But just a few minutes ago, my Amazon Echo 5, just started in on me. To be fair, she sometimes starts talking about various topics unbidden, and I just tell her to stop. (she's like the perfect wife!) Today, however, she starts in asking if I have enough time to answer some symptom-related questions so she can determine if I might need to seek medical care for Covid 19. I declined, then wondered why anyone might want Amazon, etc., to know ANYTHING about their health information? Visions of being whisked off by folks driving one of those blue Amazon vans flashed in my head. I'm going to start being more careful about what is said in front of Alexa from now on. (or maybe just unplug her!)

I don't know why anyone would elect for their own loss of privacy. If you can't understand the obvious reasons not to own one, there's also hackers that want to steal from you or just be a jerk for "lulz"

It's just not a good idea.

Want to listen to music?? There are dozens of ways to do so without compromising your privacy. --And BONUS- they all have better sound quality.

Why anyone has one of these in their house in beyond me.
One year for Christmas my boss gave us all the Facebutt Portal with built-in Alexa. NOPE. I never even opened it and I re-gifted that POS thing to someone else.

Yeah, I know cell phones can listen in too but it's not going to be randomly talking to me and asking to answer personal questions. F' that.

Thankfully there is zero risk in using the internet. I'm glad none of my personal information can be gathered while looking at websites like Calguns.

Doesn’t bother me...I have an Echo, two Echo Dots, and four or five of my Sonos speakers have Alexa built in.

Nothing we say is of concern, so we DGAF. They can listen in all they want, and can kiss our azzes... got nothing to hide and I ain’t skeerd.

Every now and again I state out loud how the NSA can kiss my rosy and such.
