I think it's more like California ran out of money for Tesla to leech, you know, with housing the homeless and paying illegals to stay home.

I hope Tesla moves. It'll be a huge blow to Alameda county and this god damn state in terms of manufacturing.

Musk is a crazy visionary, but that doesn't make him any less crazy. He also has a bad case of "won't shut up for his own good". Hope it all works out for the people of alameda, tesla workers, and tesla itself.

Just about everyone is losing daily. Compared to 99% of the country, he isnt losing anything.

If anyone can afford to keep his employees afloat during the shutdown, its Musk.

Too bad he's opting to abandon them instead.

THIS - somebody is offering better tax breaks or public money. Or may be a ploy to negotiate better deal from the locals

California is going to experience a HUGE influx of businesses leaving.

                        Should help the housing imbalance.

I am looking to move out of this state too. I own an apartment building where my tenants were told:
                        1) They didn't have to pay rent
                        2) The could not be evicted
                        I was told:
                        1) If tenants couldn't pay rent I couldn't evict.
                        2) I could not raise rents for a year after this ends,(whenever that is) and would be backdated to March 4th.
                        3) I could not go after stimulus money to pay for rent.
                        4) I still have to pay for utilities.

I will never buy or build another apartment building anywhere in CA.

My buddy transferred to Giga 1 in sparks about two years ago. During that time he brought a 3br house, brought a new jeep for himself, a new toyota for the wife, had 2 kids. When he was working at Fremont renting the sh1thole inlaw in east oakland he could barely afford to scrape by. The best thing for all the employees in Fremont is to relocate with the company. Both Nevada or Texas sounds like a win.

I agree. If another state will give him a better deal, even if it is only less burdensome regulations, he would be smart to consider it.

                              Not "influx", but "efflux".

I suspect that you'll also "enjoy" a slew of new regulations piled on top of landlords to "protect" those "vulnerable" tenants which will drastically increase your overhead costs and force you to unintentionally risk criminal charges for not knowing the nuances of EVERY SINGLE ONE.

CA HATES anyone who owns property.
