I can't believe we are letting the country be destroyed by fear-mongering democrats. We are the greatest nation on earth and we are giving it all up for the flu. Is everyone going to stay locked down forever? Shut down the economy and let us turn into a s---hole country like Venezuela in a few years?

It would be better to let people get the virus and die and keep the economy open. I don't care if that sounds harsh. It's true. What is the point of protecting a small vulnerable portion of the population if we turn into a country like Venezuela or Cuba in the process? I would rather die than watch that happen to America.

Sigh. Of course you are correct. That's not the point.

At this point, it's only about one thing: getting re-elected. Logic has NOTHING to do with it, as you correctly observe -- if we wait until it's safe, we'll be waiting forever.

But Trump has to appease the sheeple. He has to position himself for the attacks which will come. He has to be able to run a campaign which can win the critical swing states, and that means the people in those states must have their concerns addressed, and those people are not as logical as we all wish they were.

So all you'll see him do is following a script which, in the opinion of his advisors, will maximize his chances of re-election.

A huge part of it will be getting the appearance of the economy going, and so he'll happily inject trillions of debt dollars to get the wheels turning again. Will billions and billions be lost to corruption and incompetence and waste? You better believe it. But the election is in the balance, and so nothing else matters

You folks do understand this is the same method(s) used for 9/11 right ? We will never be able to fly normally again because of the terror threat. Even amended some liberties/freedoms in the name of terror and now we have to be strip searched to board a plane and can't carry a normal can/bottle of shaving cream , Shampoo or tooth paste.
