November 2020 is going to be wholesale slaughter of democrats in office.

Yup...The Republicans and libertarians are going to fry every democrat in the state with this in the run up to the election. Orange County will be going Red again. If you looked at the votes cast in the OC primary, in every Republican district that went red in 2018, there were more total Republican votes cast than democrat... This over reach and unfair treatment singling out OC all but guarantees a totally red OC congressional delegation. It may move some democrat votes to republican as most all the "visitors" to the beach are coming from blue districts.

Interesting prediction. I'm not sure anyone except the hardcore party followers are perceiving the pandemic as a political issue like people here seem to be.

Plus, where is the frustration placed if you're frustrated with the lockdown measures? If I wanted to blame someone I can blame Newsom (who isn't up for re-election this year) or possibly my city council members who are keeping the city beaches closed etc. I honestly don't have a clue what my state representative is doing since the lockdown has been entirely executive branch.

There will be some fresh new gun owners, many of whom are left-leaning or "independent". That's never a bad thing but it may take a while for them to start noticing their rights are at risk. Though anecdotally a lot of first time gun buyers were unhappy with the waiting periods and many of them are having horrible times getting their purchases out of jail.

So, I dunno, "fry every democrat" sounds pretty far up the hyperbole ladder to me.
