Read that article earlier today. Interesting how he (Ioannidis) welcomes questions to his methodology and is upfront about them and biases. OTOH it seems like the modelers that were used to start this S show hide everything and haven't been anywhere close in their projections.

The left always positions themselves in a "heads they win, tails you lose" situation. They are doing it with climate change "temps go down, they saved us, temps go up, see you didn't do what we said". The same with the shutdown ans SIP. " Deaths go down, they saved us, deaths go up, see you didn't do what we said". There is no winning with them, kinda like playing chess with a pigeon.

Everyone of these fear mongers on the board critique the limits of these new studies because it goes against their pearl clutching beliefs. Yet, none of them critique the early numbers and recommendations that came from questionable models, China, WHO, or Italy...all suspects of getting at the truth.
Sadly, you could see the disappointment in their posts every time when the reported numbers of deaths were lower than estimated, when number of people infected with covid19 (but asymptomatic) was higher than expected, or when new studies said anything contradicting their fear mongering.Comment

We have a winner. Their line is, "it is a global catastrophe and needs global solutions". Catastrophe, alright; by design. Not the virus (or climate), but the solution.
The goals are the same as for global warming: Transfer of power and wealth, away from the middle class. To create a more compliant populous, with much lower aspirations. By making the bulk of the population dependent on govt, they are expected to go along with any new restriction, or starve.
Why is China being praised in all this? Because they have achieved the model of control over their population, that the globalists want for the US.Comment
