Nasal Irrigation Is the Key to Reducing COVID-19 Progression, Doctor Says

Though we may be getting closer, there is currently no known cure for the coronavirus that's shut down much of the world and taken hundreds of thousands of lives globally. But there may be some good news for those who have COVID-19, according to Amy Baxter, MD. The Atlanta-based doctor known for creative solutions to long-standing medical challenges is touting a lesser-discussed method to combat the progression of COVID-19 in patients who are positive: nasal irrigation.

After considerable research and talking to colleagues who focus on both ear, nose, and throat and pulmonary treatment, Baxter, CEO and founder of Pain Care Labs, told Best Life she "believe[s] strongly that nasal irrigation is the key to reducing COVID-19 progression of symptoms and infectivity."

Snip: For anyone exposed to or positive for COVID-19, Baxter offers the following specific self-treatment:

"Do a hypertonic nasal irrigation with 1/2 tsp. povidone-iodine in the a.m. and in the evening with 8 oz. boiled lukewarm tap water, 1/2 tsp. baking soda, and 1 tsp. salt per cup H20."

I'm not a doctor so I don't know if this is the type of nasal irrigation that they are speaking of but I've used this type to flush out nasal passages which are much better than the old school Neti Pots with your tilting head and having to get it just right.

Maybe more importantly that if someone had a 3D printer they could print up the top and just use a straw that goes down any bottle to get the same effect. If you didn't want to spend the ten bucks for a brand new one that is medically cleaned and most likely comes from China (just like every other medical item)

But don't buy the one I'm posting without looking around on Amazon for nasal irrigation bottles first. Maybe there is one made in the USA.

Breaking: 6 people drown in Nettie pot party, Trump to blame. Fake news at eleven.

My allergy doctor gave me one of those, and I use it frequently. Makes a difference.

I'm sure they probably get the bottle and caps from China or somewhere else, but that company is based in Santa Rosa.

They were recommending against Neto pots early on (and afaik still are) but neither recommendation (the op or the ones I’m mentioning) have been studied.

So without a study everyone is just talking their book for whatever angle they have.

Well that's actually nice to know. Thank you for the information.

I have a dream, someday we will have enough technology to make a squeezable bottle, a plastic straw that goes to the bottom of the bottle and with a rounded bottle cap that will fit everyone's nose back here in the U.S. of A. !

Until we can develop that extremely high tech type of Technology, China has us over a barrel.

Guess there will be a run on these.

Your nose is your body's air filter, catching germs and allergens. Naväge offers a natural, powered suction method to clear out these intruders. It helps you breathe easier, enjoy deeper sleep, and reduce snoring. Just as oral care defined the 20th century, Naväge is setting the standard for 21st-century nasal hygiene.

I swear, around a month ago, some talking head with too many letters after their name was blabbering on about NOT rinsing nostrils because it would force the virus inside you faster.
