Yes, but this is why they took that job, "to help people". To listen to the nurses' association, they care far more than us physicians. Guess how many physicians are still "on the front lines" seeing patients?

If you can't step it up during a perceived emergency, perhaps you should have taken a regular desk job?

I think that the protest is counterproductive. This only ends with herd immunity. I would imaging that the protesting nurses goal is to minimize exposure. Full lockdown just means that they will be exposed forever. A partial opening with hasten the acquisition of herd immunity and therefore should end the exposure.

The sooner we reach herd immunity the less exposure they get.

Do they know what they are asking for? Be careful of what you ask for as you might get it.

They are like just like conscientious objectors in the military. Everything is fine until they actually have to go to war/battle.

There's a general rule to always support the opposing faction when the Nurses'/Physicians'/Teachers'/other "first responders'" Unions take a stance.

                  BINGO

Remember when health insurance kept getting double digit increases in premiums? When the nurses union is done with this - those will be back.

I respect medical professionals but people gotta stop putting them on a pedestal. Those professionals need to stop it with the attention whore bs as well. You chose this as a job. Just do your job and go on about your life.

I am not sure if medical professionals should get involved in the politics surrounding Covid 19.

My only concern is being adequately protected to “do my job” which is to make sure you survive. That is what I “signed up for”. My only comment on the shutdown/stay-at-home issue(s) is that it will prove difficult "to do my job" if there is a POTENTIAL (key word, is potential) surge in cases that require hospitalization. All this mass hysteria about PPE shortage is true.

What I found interesting in some of these posts… correct me if I am mistaken. By some of the logic I am reading:

It is OK to send the military to war without any weapons, police to protect and serve without their bulletproof vests, cuffs, guns, tasers, and firefighters without their protective burn suits and a water hose? And… if they protest, they should “stop crying” about it because that’s what they “signed up” for? God forbid they expire/die in the line of duty. I can only imagine the sympathy cards. LoL.

Do not take this as fear-mongering. I am not Fox News or CNN or whatever else you watch. IF you are infected with Covid 19, you'll probably get a bad cough, a fever, and that's it. However, you are misinformed if you believe people that are relatively healthy, young, no history/co-morbidities do not die from/of Covid 19. My experience. Stay safe.
