Any recourse against tyrant health officers?

With all these face mask requirement to leave your house, is the any recourse against these fricking unelected tyrants? Also, what grants them so much power to use LE against citizens?

There has been a lot of abuse of power by elected and unelected officials. The courts are going to be very busy for years to come sorting out the legality of the arrogance of unelected city and county workers that has been astoundingly unconstitutional.

I normally don't take pleasure in other people's pain, but when this is all over a lot of state/county/city workers are going to lose their jobs, especially since the average worker is going to have no desire to pay more in taxes to save their jobs. If you thought that we lived in a divided country before the WhuLabFlu, you haven't seen anything yet.

      Dox' them? Just kidding.

Remember Cameron Kaiser in Riverside County suggesting there was zero risk to bringing in all those sick or potentially exposed folks from China?

These folks need to be sued, but one will need to prove they were working out of the scope of their pitiful government job before one can get at the individually.

Watch for a bunch of class action suits.

It's good to distinguish between overstepping authority (the health department telling you to eat your vegetables) vs use of their authority in a way you don't agree with (them telling you to wear a mask in public).

One is illegal and has recourse, the other does not.

Most of what I've seen is the mayors and governors giving the actual orders...they point to the healthcare opinions, but it's THEM giving the direction...even if it's simply pointing to the health guidelines saying we need to follow them.

It's a very gray area IMO. The Governor, for example, seems to have tremendous latitude on what he can do when he declares an official emergency. Mayors too at the local level. Many, of course, have clearly encroached on liberties and suspended actual rights. And not a single one has provided any statute or legal justification for the directives they give. At least that I've seen.

All of this is untested. But given that we live in California, I don't expect that there will be any examination of this after this is over. And there needs to be.

Public health officials and elected officials are granted a lot of power when it comes to health and safety. Good luck trying to sue or take them to court.

Again i'll try to explain , the Health dept(s) are doing what they are told by the city managers who are being told by the Mayor , who is being told by the Gov.

It's pretty simple. The Health Dept can TELL them no but it comes with a cost. Take Trump and Fauci for example , one is science based with knowledge the other is only looking at cost/economy issues. Collateral damage is the same as in war tbqf.

I just simply don't play their game, whenever I can get away with it. As far as recourse, not likely. Defiance is as much as most of us will get.

I'm just think someone or people need to be held accountable for civil liberties. Every health order I've read has the Health Offcer's name on it. Figured it wouls be a place to start
