Too many don't understand the difference between motion and progress, and that goes for many of these company commercials.

This bugs me too. Only good commercial I saw was the Burger King "Couch Potato/Patriotic Duty" one.
I've mostly switched to premium movie channels. An Arnold movie is on almost every minute of the day... lately I've watched Last Action Hero and Total Recall. Also I found the Yule Log is still available on my cable.Comment

I’m thinking airtime must be cheap right now. I’m seeing more piss-poor produced commercials from rinky dink little no-name companies. And the PI lawyers..."The lunatic is in the hall.
The lunatics are in my hall.
The paper holds their folded faces to the floor,
And every day the paper boy brings more."Comment

I just saw the one with closeups of medical workers whose faces had marks from their protective masks with a somber yet pensive piano accompaniment..

I agree, and also please stop this worshiping at the feet of the health care workers. You'd think based on the commercials we are stopping a bayonet charge with our bare hands.
We go to work because it is our job like many others here who also expose themselves to the daily hazards of this new world. Enough already. Please before some of our coworkers let it get to their heads, and they start believe how great they really are (but trust me..they aren't)Comment

While I don't like all the pandering, it does represent capitalism - but also tells me much about what these companies think their customers want to hear.
I'd rather watch Gunsmoke.Comment

Social conditioning, predictive programming, group think, and mass rituals are all part of the COVID-19 PsyOp.

Like I said - it is what the companies think their customers want to hear. Positive name recognition. They are their for you, blah-blah-blah. They want to sell product. Are they getting money for plugging the government propaganda? I don't know - probably. There are enough government commercials already doing that.
Regardless, it is totally off-putting for the rest of us.Comment

But -- I can't help but wonder if the Burger King ad was sarcastic in more ways than one saying it is patriotic to sit on your couch all day.Comment
