A bogus study without proper scientific rigor used by the media to dunk on Trump while thousands die. Disgusting. Dr. Raoult, who just completed another 1000+ person study, takes this BS apart.

Moreover, incomprehensibly, the “untreated” group actually received azithromycin in 30% of cases,
without this group being analyzed in any distinct way. Azithromycin is also a proposed treatment for
COVID (Gautret, 2020) with in vitro efficacy (Andreani, 2020), and to mix it with patients who are
supposedly untreated is something that is closer to scientific fraud than reasonable analysis.
Altogether these 3 voluntary biases are all pushing to the idea of dangerosity of hydroxychloroquine
safest drug as reported on nearly 1 million people (Lane, 2020).
All in all, this is a work that shows that, in this period, it is possible to propose things that do not
stand up to any methodological analysis to try to demonstrate that one is right.

The most recent study by Dr. Raoult shows pretty solid efficacy. It also notes no evidence of cardiac issues as some other bogus reports have tried to insinuate.

Good clinical outcome and virological cure were obtained in 973 patients within
10 days (91.7%). Prolonged viral carriage was observed in 47 patients (4.4%) and was
associated to a higher viral load at diagnosis (p < 10-2
) but viral culture was negative at day
10. All but one were PCR-cleared at day 15. A poor clinical outcome was observed for 46
patients (4.3%) and 8 died (0.75%) (74-95 years old). Mortality was lower than in patients
treated with other regimens in all Marseille public hospitals (p< 10-2
). Five patients are still
hospitalized (98.7% of patients cured so far). Poor clinical outcome was associated to older
age (OR 1.11), initial higher severity (OR 10.05) and low HCQ serum concentration. Poor
clinical and virological outcomes were associated to the use of selective beta-blocking agents
and angiotensin II receptor blockers (P<0.05). No cardiac toxicity was observed.

CONCLUSION: Early HCQ+AZ combination is a safe and efficient treatment for COVID19

There's a growing mountain of solid evidence of effectiveness. There's also an effort to create false data to indicate it's not.

Read my post above on Dr. Raoult's refutation of the 'study' from the OP. Then read the new study he just completed with over a thousand patients where 91% saw viral load drop dramatically with his treatment. It works, there is no doubt that it works.
