Do we have any solid reason to think that audio is real? Don't get me wrong, I have no clue one way or the other, it's just that it seems like we can't believe anything anymore.

A New York Times photographer was caught on a hot mic joking about a vaccine for the coronavirus.

New York Times photographer Doug Mills was caught joking about a coronavirus vaccine on Monday to Fox News White House correspondent John Roberts.

Wow. I'm not even sure what to make of that... maybe the whole thing was kind of tongue-in-cheek? I mean if he's joking about the vaccine is he being sarcastic about the rest of it?

It's a NY Times employee. Do they have any credibility about anything?

Any potential vaccine now would be very risky to take anyways. Nobody would want to take that risk.

Good point. I knew he wasn't serious about the vaccine, what I was wondering is if he's mocking the USC study or admitting that the death rate is way lower than is being publicized?

Yes, tongue-in-cheek! Aye carumba, these guys have humor between themselves, they were just joking. Now excuse me while I feed my Greys.

It's a good example on how things can be wildly taken out of context eh? Obviously I am nor privy to the truth here... but I have to admit it sounded a bit like me and my buddies at work, we sarcastically joke with customers and each other all the time.

Two days ago a long time customer paid me in advance for a $7,500 job because he trusted me and he was leaving for a couple days. Of course all kinds of joking comments come out among us about taking the money and doing nothing for it. And of course he has a beautifully working HVAC system in his house when he gets home. But ten seconds filmed out of context could make me look like a real crook.

I'm as skeptical of this whole thing as anyone, but after watching that a couple times I think we were seeing two guys poking fun at the skeptics.

The USC and stanford studies are quite real. Those two may or may not have been joking but the studies and numbers they were referencing are correct.

The early results of USC/Los Angeles County antibody testing show a surprising number of residents have been infected with COVID-19.

The number of coronavirus infections in Santa Clara County could be between 50 and 80 times higher than the officially confirmed count, preliminary results from a community-based study by a team of Stanford researchers indicates.
