The light at the end of the tunnel! (Nope)

So... I had a bitter mug of reality-tea this morning. Looked at my sweden covid chart:
Sweden Coronavirus update with statistics and graphs: total and new cases, deaths per day, mortality and recovery rates, current active cases, recoveries, trends and timeline.

Crap. I'm glad I didn't make any bets.

As someone else pointed out - they stop counting on weekends! It's really funny because I work with a lot of Swedes. They are at the top of the food chain when it comes to being a 1st world country and they take their free time seriously (Everyone gets at least 6 weeks of vacation time per year, it is mandated by law to take 3 weeks consecutively.)

Anyway it looks like I'll need to come to grips with some facts:
    - While the covid looks like it's winding down it hasn't burned out. It's too early to say.
    - Sweden is my favorite example for how things "should" have been handled. No reason to panic but this bug is definitely still active
    - NYC just found a bunch of old toe tags and decided to put them in the covid column. Can't trust their numbers any more than those coming from China - so can't draw any conclusions. (Well maybe I can: I'll never move to NY and will likely never even visit)

Is this all a conspiracy? No, every country is dealing with this, it's unlikely to be World vs Trump. Is is real? Yes. Am I afraid? Not at all - my wife & kids are still going to work and I'd be doing the same if my company hadn't shut down. Is this the new Black Death? No. Worth shutting everything down? No. Worth taking some precautions? Yes. Overly politicized? Definitely.

Still... things in TX should start to open up soon so I'm looking forward to that! We're not NYC

I hope they start opening up soon. My wife and kid need to get out of the house. My neighbors are starting to be A-holes. Everyone is on edge. This crap has to end soon. The "cure" is worse than the virus without a doubt.

A lot of places are mandating mask wearing now. I don't see how this is Constitutional at all. Judge Napolitano ripped all this apart on its Constitutionality. I certainly hope a lot of people wind up in cages for it.

If you do some curve fitting between Apr 9 and Apr 13 it looks like the curve may be flattening some. However, there needs to be 3-4 days before you will be able see if it is real.

Maybe they realized some benefit to counting those who just pass away as covid customers like NYC just did.

I wouldn't give on sweden as Toro noted, they appear to have had a peak of new cases about 6 days ago. If thats the case, peak death will occur in another week or so and start to taper.
Everyone on Calguns keeps talking about TDS. I never knew we had so many fish keepers!

The TDS on my 10gallon tanks 110ppm
The TDS on my 29 gallon tank is 150ppm (due to substrate)

How so? I am surprised actually. I was expecting exponential growth and it looks like growth rate peaked and may be in decline without a lockdown.

Any link to stories on this point, NYC assigning covid to a bunch of other deaths? I have not seen this and curious.

I get that, but their daily case totals should be in the 2,000+ per day club by now. They ramped up quickly and hit 700 then have been maintaining a steady rate of 400ish.

Now admittedly their testing rate is poor currently.(though higher than the UK or France)

Also look at the bar chart here. This stands out like a sore thumb.

                          Interesting info.

As far as the guaranteed 6 weeks, and "3 weeks must be taken consecutively" that actually makes sense. If every employee has 6 weeks and takes them a few days at a time, the ability to run a business is REALLY destroyed. It's already bad enough with everyone getting 6 weeks as some employees can be very difficult to temporarily replace-especially at a small, highly specialized business.

Even so, just not tallying up their numbers over the weekend seems supremely lazy.

                          Oh, and "get a rope".
