    Riverside County: Masks Recommenced

While the county had previously not endorsed widespread face covering, the circumstances have changed, said Dr. Cameron Kaiser, Riverside County public health officer.

I don't have any masks so I guess when I'm headed from OC to San Berdo I'll just hold my breath as I drive through.

Actually I'm surprised they would suggest this. I don't think most people understand how small the virus particles are. They can make it through anything less than an N95. Not to mention your eyes can take in a whole lot of virus.
I will stand for truth even if I stand alone.

The last time I had faith in the News was when it was with Huey Lewis.

"This is perhaps the most misunderstood aspect of filter performance and bears repeating. Filters do NOT act as sieves. One of the best tests of a filter’s performance involves measuring particle collection at its most penetrating particle size, which ensures better performance for larger and smaller particles. Further, the filter’s collection efficiency is a function of the size of the particles, and is not dependent on whether they are bioaerosols or inert particles."

It's about keeping germs in the wearer's mask.

They don't want you using medical grade masks. From the press release:

...the face coverings do not have to be medical grade. Bandanas and fabric masks are acceptable alternatives....

It will definitely keep the ejection range of sputum down as people talk.

Medical grade masks are for the important people. First they say we don't need masks. Now they say we need masks but because they were unprepared we don't need to be using up their limited supply of good masks.

As of yesterday we have had one reported case of Kung Flu in my city. I'm sure that will rise.
