This is going to KILL a lot of small businesses. We own a gymnastics center and follow guidelines passed down by the Dept of Ed. Zero revenue for 2 1/2 months will break many businesses - gyms, daycare centers, preschools, private schools, etc.

Yeah, I worry about places like that. Even our medical office may not survive. We are doing three times the work, but most of it by phone-and insurances WILL stiff us for most, if not all, of that.

Oh cry me a river of tears, parents!

YOU decide to have children and then complain the first damn time something goes a little wrong and YOUR kid has to stay home and suddenly YOU have feed him, YOU have to educate him, YOU have to spend the day with him, YOU have to put up with your kid's mouth, YOU have to deal with your kid's psychological problems and YOU have to take some responsibility for the monster YOU created.

In an age when most kids don't eat supper at the dinner table with their parents, when less than 20% are career or college ready, when most high school students graduate WITHOUT their driver's licenses, and many parents bounce THEIR kids from household to household on a weekly basis... all of a sudden, YOU'RE "concerned" about the "trimester" they will miss? We let me break some news to YOU: public schools work on a "quarter/semester" system. YOUR kid is going to miss one lousy quarter of school at the END of the year when ALL the AP kids have already covered all the material needed and were either reviewing or have just taken their AP tests, when college applications and SAT tests were due way back in December/January and THOSE lucky few who have been accepted to colleges and universities have already received their letters...

Doesn't bother me. The work or very little my kids teachers are giving out is basically a waste of time. From HS to grade school.

The teachers scored here. They just want to show they gave out work to complete. There is no tests. Just busy work.

In 5 months when school starts, we'll be at the same place. Hopefully I'm wrong though.
