Most any respiratory virus can be airborne, but via aerosol or droplet? Two variables help determine that.
1) is the virus able to survive on small particle aerosols which can ride air currents to stay aloft for hours or is it only able to stay active in larger droplets which precipitate out of the air onto surfaces in a matter of seconds?
2) what viral load (number of virus particles) is required for an exposure to trigger infection?
Those two variables are primary drivers of how a respiratory virus spreads through air. Not many viruses are adept at spreading via aerosol because it's a rare virion that can both remain active for hours in the hostile environment of open air and is so infectious it only takes a small number of them to trigger an infection.
If this virus was adept at spreading that way we would expect to see a spread rate like measles, which is really good at a aerosol dispersion. R0 for measles is 12-18 in large part due to how well it aerosilzes. We don't see that with SARS-CoV2 so we can begin to see if this virus is capable of spreading through aerosols it doesn't seem very good at it.Comment

I stand by my original statement and pointing out how small a viral load measles needs to spread is an agreement with me. It's one of the two primary variables I listed so don't know why you consider that fact a rebuttal.
Can a single person infect others in a sports stadium? Yes. An infected person on a plane? Ditto. A doctor’s office? Disneyland? Yessiree. The power of #measles is almost legendary.

No, it's not. Lab results for many years have had it at 2-2.5. Any "new" publication that says different, is suspect. Chicken pox has approximately the same R0.
The EVIDENCE says COVID-19, is airborne. At least to a point. I remember Measles going around. If it were 12-18, EVERYONE on the planet would've gotten it. My sister got it, my parents, and next door neighbors, never got it, and I never got it. If it was truly airborne at R0 12-18, my parents, and neighbors would've gotten it. Same with Chicken pox. My sister gave it to my mom, but my dad and I, never got it.
When I was in third grade, two of my classmates had to leave school because of measles. All of our class was exposed, as both had an active case of it. No one else in our class caught it. If the R0 was TRULY any higher than 2.5, MOST of us, would've gotten it.
THIS virus just "pops up" in places it shouldn't, or where it's not expected. "Droplets" don't work that way. Ask the Italians, and Iranians. It may not be as virulent, as the fictional portrayal of Filovirus in the movie "Outbreak", but none-the-less, it's airborne.
A single "flu" virus introduced into 100 rats, caused infection in 52 of them. Experiment done in BioLab, at Univ. Cincinnati, 1981. Granted, this is under controlled conditions in a lab, but still, the potential under certain circumstances is there. This also depends on the virus. We just don't know for sure about COVID-19 if this is true or not yet.

Nothing in that article backs up anything you've claimed about measles infectivity.
Maybe stop getting your epidemiology news from partisan political websites. I quoted a renowned American epidemiologist and linked to a NIH published study, if you don't consider those sources reputable I think we're done here.

I’m old enough to remember parents purposely getting the kids infected with measles just to get them all done at once. If someone in the neighborhood brought it home, everyone would visit.Comment
