I'd say it's all conditional on how far things go in this "crisis." Lots of people are getting fired, especially in the SF bay area and I'm sure LA. The service industry and the employees are getting shafted.

If we have a major recession, I'd be more inclined to say "yay."

As far as man buns, my old roommate from when I was living in SF still has one but he has a farming background (Ie. Not a soy boy b1tch). Lots of friends I know have more time than ever to play vidjagames since classes have been moved to online.

        Yes.

No, A little financial hit, a OMG there's no TP moment and a government check.

I do think this will widen the gap of rich and poor. I do think if this all goes bad it may re-balance social security(high mortality rate of those collecting low of those paying in). I don't think people will be going hungry. I'm sure some will be more prepared in the future. But my guess is 5 years from now the majority are right back to living paycheck to paycheck and this is all just a distant memory.

I don't see anyone at work thinking about/willing to make a change. We were talking about being more prepared financially yesterday at work. IMO the majority of people just aren't willing to make the sacrifice.

It's all about the individuals priorities, isn't it.

All those things are probably happening even more now. Nothing but time and Amazon still delivers all those things.

This really isn't hard times relatively speaking. We lost half a million men in their primes during WW2. Citizens were starving to death in many states during the depression. A toilet paper shortage isn't going to make soft men savage again. I do think we will see a larger leap towards socialism with all the folks that are getting fvckd out of making a living for themselves. I can see their arguments now. They did everything right. Got an education. Worked hard. Gave blood sweat and tears to their employers, only to go bankrupt because it was a bad flu season.

I suspect a lot of people are tougher than people think. My depression-era grandparents didn't appear all that tough in their later years. More thrifty, that's about it.

Humans, even the dumb ones, are pretty clever when it comes to survival.

At their core they are yes,

having to shake off the need to cultivate things to be offended over and other such prog corruption of American ideals as well as just general pussification is i think what the OP is asking about.
