Midnight is 10 hours away in California. We wont know Friday totals until tomorrow afternoon.

But expect Friday's grim toll to be in the 1300 -1400 range. Saturday, higher. And Sunday, higher still.

What I sense here is a lot of cognitive dissonance-
The turmoil between a subconscious need to support the POTUS that is in direct opposition to the wide eyed realization that his response this far has only made the whole situation worse and placed further into full view just how deep his incompetence runs and how it defines him.

The response for those unwilling to accept this very public, surface reality is to lash out and scapegoat those who arent afraid to accept the truth.

Ideological purity tests are just one of the many manifestations of this inner and outer conflict.

IMO only the people forced out of work due to the overreaction should get money.

The government f-d them over and now need to pay for damages. No different than if you rear-end my vehicle. That's not socialism, that's paying for your mistake. The problem is, we are the insurance company.

Just so we're clear, I was referring to death doubling rates and estimating that we'd hit 10k at some point this weekend. Maybe I should have been more specific in the wording but I did not mean close-of-business on Friday. We're at 7k right now... I would say 10k by end of Sunday for sure.

I know you fervently wish this to be true (you and Dr Fauci.) However it seems we're unlikely to hit that 10k death mark this weekend that zhyla posted in his 4/2/2020 sanity thread. If we do, ok, I'll concede that things are still out of control. But here in the real world it seems like things are looking up.
