Drag. Dominiques are nice birds.
Once upon a time I tried to propagate show-quality Partridge Cochins. Wasn't easy. Eventually I hooked up with George Priest in Bakersfield who had magnificent stock...
As I get older, at some point I'd like to do it again, but with something slightly easier. Probably Light Brahmas. Anyway, good luck with your search.Riflemen Needed.

Talked to my wife.
Turns out house arrest only applies to me when I want to buy food or go to Home depot. She's got a plan. Gonna call every chicken outfit between here and wherever, and put some on hold the moment they are available.
Looks like she is willing to drive across the entire Bay Area for these chickens.
Wonder her opinion if I tell her I want to stop on the way if I can find an open FFL in a neighbor county that has some gunpowder I want.

I hatch my own chicks, super easy, a broody hen does all the work.Originally Posted By CTbuilder1 @ arfcom:

Agree 100%.
Same with gardening.
Bag of dirt is $5, need a bunch. Water beyond what comes off the roof and falls on the ground is extra. If you want it to look nice, the hardscaping costs. If you buy starts, those cost money. If your trees were larger than 1 gallon, that's a ton of money each. $30 minimum, $70 not atypical. I have paid triple digits for a tree that is giving me no fruit today.
Seems easier to just go to the store to buy tomatoes, oranges, lemons, onions and leeks and peppers. And cheaper!

But I still garden. And own chickens. Knowing I am money behind. And forever will be.
I still do it.Comment

Depending on where you live trees are pretty dang easy. We have all sorts of fruit trees here that give us more $$ worth of fruit every year than the original cost of a nice couple year old fruit tree. The only cost yearly is the effort to collect all the fruit off the treeAgree 100%.

No government deprives its citizens of rights without asserting that its actions are "reasonable" and "necessary" for high-sounding reasons such as "public safety."
A right that can be regulated is no right at all, only a temporary privilege dependent upon the good will of the very government
officials that such right is designed to constrain.Comment
