If landlords cannot evict then the county should suspend property taxes. Let the government dole out money not landlords.

Landlords cannot evict then no property taxes

I know for LA county's part they are going to wave late payment penalties if you've been adversely impacted by the CoVID-19 crisis. Supposedly they have put together a group to help process what they know will likely be tens of thousands such requests for people who hadn't already paid before this became a big issue.
It might take amending state law for the payment schedule to actually change, not sure if the declared emergency powers of the public health dept. or governor include that authority but I've never read anything suggesting they could alter it by decree. -
I'm up for suspending property taxes.
If they don't well that's where my families "stimulus payment" is going - to California taxes for them doing nothing.Spreading the WORD according to COLT. and Smith, Wesson, Ruger, HK, Sig, High Standard, Browning

I suspect the fat cats will get the bulk of the stimulus money (which ends up coming out of our pockets). And then, to prevent the economy from crashing, someone needs to dole out money to the "working class". Guess where that comes from ... the upper middle class. Housing? Simply "Robin Hood" the landlords who are not "too big to fail." And you are right, the government is not going to give you an inch on property tax and your lender isn't going to give you a break either.Comment

You'll get to take your expenses for the rental off your taxes - with no rental income to pay on. Unless you can have your favorite legislator float a bill to bailout Landlords. Sure, why not? And, at the same time, lets get a bill to bail out bad stock returns. I didn't invest to lose money, after all.Comment
